First art exhibition at Cool Beans under new ownership
The first artist to exhibit at Cool Beans is Carroll G. (McCormick) Klingensmith
Carroll Klingensmith has been creating in the arts for many years. She has worked with stained glass, oils, and water-colors as well as with counted cross stitch, sewing and tailoring, knitting, and crafts.
In the most recent years Carroll has been concentrating on watercolors. She has been studying with instructors at the Art League of Manatee County, Bradenton, Florida, Chautauqua Institute, NY, Long Boat Key Center for the Arts, a division of Ringling School of Art and Design, Long Boat Key, FL, and with Terry Madden, Jack Nolan, Anne Abgott all of Florida and Diane Maxey of Phoenix, Arizona.
Carroll has received awards from various art shows including the Kennerdale Art Show, Armstrong League of Arts, Kittanning Art Club, Covenant Center Art Show, Associated Artists of Butler County, New Growth Arts Festival (Indiana PA), and Saxonburg Festival of the Arts.
Her watercolors have been shown in Pratt Gallery, Kittanning, PA, Allegheny Valley Hospital Gallery, Tarentum PA, Art League of Manatee County, Bradenton, FL, Marsha's Garden Shop and Gallery, Ford City, PA, Cozy Corners Gallery, New Wilmington, PA, Associated Artists of Butler County Gallery, Butler, PA, Long Boat Key Center for the Arts, a division of Ringling School of Art and Design, Long Boat Key, FL, and Lily Pads, Santa Rosa Beach, FL.
She was an Agency Resource Manager for Lutheran Brotherhood and retired in 2001. She is a lay worship leader (lay pastor) with the Southwest Pennsylvania Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America.
Carroll and her husband “Clair” reside both in Ford City , PA and Bradenton , FL. They have 2 children: Lewis “Kirk” Klingensmith of Corning, NY, and Dr. Renee' Stone of Alpharetta , GA , along with four grandchildren.
